Our Services
Freedom House's mission is to provide safe shelter, therapy or counseling, information, education and referral for domestic violence victims and their children; and sexual violence victims and their significant others.
Freedom House provides domestic and sexual violence services which include but are not limited to:
24-Hour Access to Shelter - A safe place to stay for emergency assistance for victims of violence and their children. Victims of domestic or sexual abuse and their dependents do not have to be in shelter to receive services. All services are free and confidential.
24-Hour Access to Advocacy - Advocates assist victims presenting in hospitals, through law enforcement, by phone or in person. Assistance with safety planning and filing for legal protection is available as are referrals to appropriate agencies. A juvenile advocate offers support and education to adolescent victims.
Counseling Services - Individual and group counseling/therapy is available for adult and child victims as well as their significant others. Crisis intervention is provided 24 hours a day through direct service trained staff or volunteer advocates.
Educational Services - Prevention education is provided for preschool through junior college-aged youth and the developmentally disabled. Topics include body safety, bullying, dating violence and more.
Professional Training - Professional training to law enforcement, clergy, medical personnel, employers and teachers is offered as well as community education. Topics include, but are not limited to, harassment, employee support for domestic violence and types of abuse. To schedule a training or to gain more information, call (815) 872-0087.
