Silver Anniversary Celebration and Ball

Opening its doors for the first time on May 9, 1983, Freedom House celebrates 25 years of service to the community! In an effort to fully articulate Freedom House's history, the Silver Anniversary Celebration Committee is asking for your input. If you were involved with Freedom House's governance, its Board of Directors, Auxiliary Board and membership - or even if you were an early supporter or donor - please contact Stephanie Cartwright at (815) 872-0087, Ext. 224. She is compiling a list of individuals and businesses that made a difference in Freedom House's growth and success and would greatly appreciate your comments.

In addition to this, committee members are organizing the Silver Anniversary Celebration Ball, which is slated for Saturday, September 27, 2008, at The Galleria in Princeton. The Silver Anniversary Celebration Ball will be a "black tie affair," featuring an elegant dinner and dessert; an orchestral performance by The Phaze; ballroom dancing; and the special raffle prize of a 14-carat white gold, 39-diamond and five blue sapphire reversible pendant and chain (donated by Bruce Jewelers in Princeton). There will also be a silent auction, featuring generous donations from local businesses and organizations within the five-county area Freedom House serves.

Cost to attend the event is $25 per person, which includes the catered meal of buffet beef and baked chicken, pasta salad, parslied red potatoes, tossed garden salad, homemade rolls, a vegetable dish and homemade cheesecake, drizzled with your choice of decadent raspberry, chocolate or caramel sauces. Ballroom dancing instruction is also included in the price of the ticket, and proceeds from the event will benefit Freedom House clients and their children. Tickets for the raffle of the reversible pendant are also available by calling (815) 872-0087 or by visiting any of the aforementioned banks.
